The Team Behind Every Clean Crawl Space in Central Illinois

The Guys Getting Muddy So You Don't Have To

Spring in Central Illinois has been wet this year. Really wet. And that means we've been dealing with a lot of crawl spaces full of standing water and mud.

I'm Chris, and I wanted to take a minute to recognize our crew—Alex, Ryan, and Jackson—for the work they've been putting in lately. These guys have been getting absolutely filthy crawling through conditions that most people wouldn't want to deal with. And they're doing it with a good attitude and quality work that makes a real difference for families in Mahomet.

Even Ellie the dog knows they deserve some appreciation. Though she's probably just hoping for treats.

But seriously, the people doing the work matter just as much as the company name on the truck. And we've got a team we're proud of.

What This Spring Has Looked Like

When crawl spaces get wet, the work gets a lot harder. You're not just dealing with humidity or a little moisture—you're crawling through standing water. Your knees are in mud. Everything you touch is soaked. And the spaces are still tight, dark, and uncomfortable even without the water.

It's physically exhausting. It takes longer because you're working in tougher conditions. And honestly, it's just not pleasant.

But here's the thing: wet crawl spaces are exactly when homeowners need help the most. That moisture isn't going away on its own. It's causing mold, affecting the air quality upstairs, and slowly damaging the structure of the home. The longer it sits, the worse it gets.

So even though the conditions have been rough, our crew has been showing up every day and getting it done. No complaints about the weather. No shortcuts to get out faster. Just good, hard work that's solving real problems for people who need it fixed now.

That's the kind of team that makes a company worth trusting.

Meet the Team Doing the Work

Alex, Ryan, and Jackson—these are the guys you'll see if we're working on your crawl space. They're not just names on a crew list. They're the people actually under your house doing the detailed work that protects your home.

Alex has been with us for a while now and has become one of our most reliable guys. He pays attention to the details that matter—proper sealing, clean installation, making sure everything's done right the first time.

Ryan's newer to the team, but he's picked things up fast and works hard. He's not afraid to ask questions when he's not sure about something, which is exactly what we want. Better to ask than to guess and do it wrong.

Jackson brings a good attitude even when the work is miserable. And lately, it's been miserable. But he shows up ready to work and doesn't cut corners just because conditions are tough.

What I've noticed about all three of them is they understand this work matters. They're not just trying to finish a job and move on to the next one. They know a family is depending on this crawl space being fixed correctly. That their home's air quality and structural integrity are affected by what we do down there.

That's not something you can train in a week. That's an attitude people either have or they don't. And we're lucky to have a crew that gets it.

Why Good Crews Are Hard to Find

Here's the reality of the crawl space industry: not everyone wants to do this work. Especially not when conditions get bad.

Some companies will reschedule wet crawl space jobs until things dry out. Which sounds reasonable until you realize the homeowner is dealing with moisture problems right now. Waiting another two weeks just makes everything worse.

Other crews will show up but rush through the work just to get out. They'll do the minimum required because nobody wants to spend more time than necessary crawling through mud and standing water. The result is sloppy installation, missed details, and problems that show up later.

And then there are companies that just won't take difficult jobs at all. If it's too wet, too tight, too complicated—they pass. Which leaves homeowners stuck trying to find someone who will actually help them.

Good crews who are willing to work in tough conditions and still maintain quality standards? Those are hard to find. That's why when Jeff and I find people like Alex, Ryan, and Jackson, we make sure to take care of them.

What Makes Our Team Different

Our crew understands something important: the work we do actually matters to the families we're serving. This isn't just another crawl space to them. It's somebody's home. Somebody's air quality. Somebody's investment.

That mindset changes how you approach the work. You don't rush through installations just to get out faster. You don't skip steps because "it's good enough." You don't leave a mess behind because you think nobody will see it.

You take pride in doing hard jobs right, even when conditions make it easier to cut corners.

Jeff and I have worked hard to build that culture. We prioritize taking care of our team—recognizing their effort, making sure they have what they need, treating them with respect. And when employees feel valued, they take ownership of the quality of work they're doing.

There's also the local accountability factor. Alex, Ryan, and Jackson live in this community. They see our customers around town. They know their work represents not just My Guys, but reflects on them personally. That matters.

We're not trying to run ten crews across three states. We're trying to build one excellent crew that does consistently great work right here in Central Illinois. Quality over quantity. People over profits.

And when conditions get tough—like they have been this spring—that approach proves itself. Our team doesn't bail. They show up and get it done right.

How Crew Quality Affects Your Home

When you hire a crawl space company, you're not just hiring the name on the truck. You're hiring the specific people who will be under your house doing the actual work.

And that matters more than most homeowners realize.

A crew that's rushed, underpaid, or doesn't care will miss things. They'll install vapor barrier with wrinkles and gaps. They'll skip proper sealing around pipes and vents. They'll leave debris behind. They won't notice secondary issues that need attention.

But a crew that takes pride in their work? They catch the details. They see the small moisture problem before it becomes a big one. They make sure every seam is sealed correctly. They leave the space cleaner than they found it.

The difference between those two approaches can mean thousands of dollars down the road. It can mean the difference between a crawl space that actually solves your moisture problem and one that just covers it up temporarily.

You want people who care working under your house. People who understand that their work affects your family's health and your home's value.

That's what you get with our team.

What We Believe About Building a Team

Jeff and I believe that treating your employees well isn't just the right thing to do—it's good business.

When your crew knows you value them, they show up differently. They take ownership of quality. They represent your company with pride. They stick around long enough to get really good at the work.

That's why we take time to recognize effort, like this video and blog. It's why we make sure our guys have the tools and support they need. It's why we're building something sustainable here in Mahomet, not just trying to make quick money.

We're not interested in growing so fast that we lose control of quality. We'd rather stay focused, keep our team tight, and maintain the standards that matter to us.

This is a long-term vision. We want to be the company Central Illinois families trust for generations. The only way to do that is by building a team that actually cares about the work and the people we're serving.

Alex, Ryan, and Jackson are a big part of that vision. And we're grateful to have them.

Hey, it's Chris. Spotted this little guy in the tree behind me the other day, and it got me thinking—if there's one hanging around your yard, there's a good chance you've got visitors under your house too. Most homeowners don't realize they have animals in their crawl space until they smell something. By that point, w

So this is our new storage unit. Not the most exciting update, but it's an important one. We're booked into July. We've got four assessments on the books this week. We've added three guys to the team—Alex, Ryan, and Jackson. Things are growing, and that's great. But here's the thing about growth: if you don't build th
